Sail the emerald bays and Venetian harbours of the Ionian from Corfu, bareboat, skippered or fully crewed, on a sailing yacht or catamaran chosen for these waters.

Sailing Corfu, Greece

Why Sail from Corfu?

Corfu sits at the northern tip of the Ionian, the most sheltered and consistent sailing ground in Greece. The Meltemi that dominates the Aegean in summer barely reaches the Ionian, making it the preferred choice for first-time charterers and families looking for reliable, relaxed sailing conditions.

From Corfu you can sail south through the Ionian island chain (Paxos, Lefkada, Meganisi, Ithaca, Kefalonia, Zakynthos) island hopping through some of the most dramatic scenery in the Mediterranean. Venetian harbour towns, hidden sea caves, turquoise lagoons and uncrowded anchorages make the Corfu-to-Zakynthos route one of the most rewarding one-way charters available.

Vlamis Yachts operates from bases in both Athens (Alimos Marina) and Lefkada (D-Marin Marina), and can arrange delivery of any fleet yacht to Corfu for one-way or return itineraries. Our team has been sailing these waters for over thirty years.

Where You'll Sail

The Ionian from Corfu

A week sailing south from Corfu covers five major islands and dozens of anchorages. Here are the highlights.

Paxos & Antipaxos

Just 45 minutes south of Corfu. The deep-blue sea caves of Antipaxos and the whitewashed village of Gaios are unmissable on any Ionian charter.

Lefkada

The turquoise lagoon beaches of Porto Katsiki and Egremni regularly top lists of Europe's best beaches. Vlamis has a permanent base at D-Marin Lefkada.

Ithaca & Kefalonia

Homer's island and its larger neighbour offer dramatic limestone cliffs, deep harbours and excellent tavernas. Fiskardo on Kefalonia is the Ionian's most picturesque port town.

Yacht Charter Corfu FAQs

How much does yacht charter in Corfu cost?

Charter prices vary by yacht, season and charter type. In line with our booking policy we do not publish fixed rates here. Request a quote or check our charter calendar for current availability and pricing, and we will come back within one business day.

When is the best time to charter a yacht in Corfu?

May, June and September are ideal: warm enough to swim, light consistent winds in the Ionian, and far fewer boats in the anchorages compared to peak season.

July and August are busier but the Ionian remains more sheltered than the Aegean in summer, making it the preferred choice for families and first-time charterers even in peak season.

Can I do a one-way charter from Corfu?

Yes. One-way charters from Corfu to Lefkada, Kefalonia or Zakynthos are available subject to delivery and repositioning fees. This is a popular option for sailors who want to experience the full length of the Ionian without retracing their route. Contact us to discuss routing and pricing.

Do I need a sailing licence to charter in Corfu?

For a bareboat charter you will need a recognised licence (RYA Day Skipper, ASA 104, ICC or equivalent) plus a qualified co-skipper. If you do not hold a licence, we can provide a professional skipper for the week, no experience needed on your part.
