Mykonos is the most cosmopolitan island in Greece, and arriving by yacht changes your relationship with it entirely. You anchor off the old town in the morning before the day boats arrive, visit the sacred ancient site of Delos on your own schedule, and find the secluded swimming bays that the ferry passengers never reach.
As part of a Cyclades charter itinerary, Mykonos is typically a two-night stop, one night at anchor off the old town, one in a marina or at the northern coast anchorages. Paros, Naxos and Delos are all within a few hours' sail. The Meltemi winds in July and August make for fast, exhilarating sailing on this part of the Cyclades.

Yes. Mykonos is a full day's sail or overnight passage from Alimos Marina in Athens, approximately 80 nautical miles. Most charterers include Mykonos as part of a Cyclades itinerary, stopping at Kea and Kythnos on the way. Contact us and we'll put together a suggested route for your dates and group.
June and September are the best months, warm enough to swim, the Meltemi is manageable, and the island is lively without being overwhelmed. July and August are peak season with strong winds and very crowded marinas, book well in advance. May is quieter and pleasant but some restaurants and beach clubs haven't fully opened.
